Job summary

Pearson in the United States is seeking a senior product manager/strategist to drive standards and production workflows for content. You will sit with content business units, model a taxonomy with them, rebuild a broken production flow, and leave teams stronger than you found them.

You will ship with current AI tooling, guide content plans from MRDs to PRDs, and champion learning outcomes across the business while coaching other PMs and leaders.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of product management experience in content/publishing or content platform domains.
• Hands-on ownership of content standards: taxonomy, metadata, quality frameworks.
• Experience with authoring, production, and delivery platforms (CMS, DAM, LCMS, XML-based).
• Built and shipped substantive content systems with current AI tooling in the last 12–18 months.
• Experience in empowered product team models with outcome-focused planning.
• Proven continuous discovery and translating insights into content outcomes.
• Experience coaching PMs and leaders without alienation.
• Strong written and verbal communication for technical and senior audiences.
• Background as a content architect, publishing operations lead, or technical PM.
• Experience designing PM training/coaching programs for content teams.
• Experience in education, assessment, or content-intensive regulated industries.
• Working knowledge of accessibility standards.

Responsibilities

• Embed the standards spine inside real business-unit work, achieving 95% metadata accuracy.
• Redesign and shorten production workflows, reducing handoffs and rework.
• Partner with content leaders through strategy, planning, and craft, even when facing resistance.
• Guide teams to high-quality plans and artifacts from MRDs to PRDs and specs.
• Design and deliver training anchored in Pearson’s real content problems.
• Build AI fluency across the content talent base in a practical way.
• Identify and prototype automation for manual content tasks before scaling.
• Bring telemetry and human-in-the-loop design to AI-assisted generation and QA.
