Job description

Senior Product Manager, Amazon Fresh Grocery Private Brands

We are seeking a strategic and analytical leader who is passionate about food, product strategy, and driving business results to join our Amazon Fresh Private Brands (AFPB) team as a Senior Product Manager, Performance. You will own the long-term product strategy and performance of our private brand food products portfolio, working cross-functionally to develop a durable strategy, manage key supplier relationships, optimize operations, and drive profitability. This role requires the ability to navigate complex business landscapes, make data-driven decisions, and influence stakeholders across the organization to deliver results.

The ideal candidate is customer-obsessed, results-driven, comfortable with ambiguity, and excels in both strategic thinking and operational execution.

Key job responsibilities
1. Strategy and Business Vision:
- Develop a long-term business and assortment strategy for our Private Brands product portfolio
- Create an own a comprehensive business roadmap, identifying and analyzing opportunities for growth, cost savings, margin improvements, and customer experience

2. P&L and Business Performance:
- Drive key business metrics (sales, profit margins, supplier performance)
- Prepare and present comprehensive business reviews (weekly, monthly, quarterly) to senior leadership
- Identify and lead complex, high-impact initiatives to drive portfolio performance and customer experience
- Coordinate and influence teams including Finance, Product Development, Supply Chain, Category Management, and Innovation Product Management
- Ensure alignment with Amazon’s overall business objectives and quality and financial standards

3. Supplier Relationship and Cost Management:
- Oversee end-to-end supplier management processes for your portfolio
- Lead negotiations with key suppliers to secure optimal terms
- Manage risks and resolve complex issues throughout supplier relationships
- Drive strategic alignment to cost-saving strategies with cross-functional teams including Supply Chain

4. Leadership and Organizational Impact:
- Mentor and develop peers
- Foster a culture of operational excellence, data-driven decision-making, and continuous improvement across the organization
- Collaborate effectively with senior stakeholders, influencing without direct authority
- Contribute to making our Private Brands organization a Great Place to Work

About the team
The Amazon Fresh Private Brands team comprises functions including Product Management, Marketing, Product Development, Supply Chain, and Strategy & Scaling. As a Sr. Product Manager, Performance, you will play a vital role in driving performance excellence of our private branded product portfolio and contribute to the growth and success of our Private Brands organization.

- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in product management, supplier management, category management, finance, or related roles, preferably in e-commerce or consumer goods
- Proven track record of driving business results and managing P&Ls
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to use data to drive decisions
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders

- MBA or advanced degree in a related field
- Experience in the food and grocery industry
- Proficiency in SQL, advanced Excel modeling, and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau)
- Familiarity with Amazon's leadership principles and operational processes
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically and execute tactically in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with supplier management and contract negotiations

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $124,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $206,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
