Our client is a spin-off of a leading real estate appraisal management company serving lenders, banks, credit unions and servicers in all 50 states. As a leader in developing proprietary solutions for the appraisal industry, the firm is currently developing software solutions aimed at enhancing the accuracy and efficiency of residential appraisal reviews. The ultimate goal is to bring this, as well as other, software solutions to the market as SaaS solution(s) that meet evolving industry standards and client needs.
Position
The Senior Product Manager will champion the vision, strategy, and roadmap for proprietary solutions in the residential appraisal quality control space. This pivotal role will be responsible for maximizing the value of the product and development efforts, ensuring alignment with business goals, industry requirements, and customer feedback. The ideal candidate will be a strong advocate for the user, possess excellent communication and prioritization skills, and thrive in a collaborative environment. The role will report to the Director of Product and will be remote.
Responsibilities
- Product Vision and Strategy: Define, communicate, and champion the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for our appraisal solutions, ensuring alignment with the overall business objectives and the direction set by the Director of Product.
- Product Backlog Management: Own and prioritize the product backlog, translating the product vision and strategy (in alignment with the Director of Product's guidance) into actionable user stories and acceptance criteria.
- Stakeholder Management: Effectively communicate the product vision, roadmap, and progress to stakeholders at all levels, including leadership, development teams, and business users, while keeping the Director of Product informed and aligned.
- User Advocacy: Deeply understand user needs and market trends through research, analysis, and direct interaction to ensure the product delivers exceptional value and communicate these insights to the Director of Product.
- Collaboration with Development Teams: Work closely and collaboratively with development teams, providing clear guidance, making timely decisions, and ensuring a shared understanding of the product goals and requirements, under the strategic guidance of the Director of Product.
- Sprint Planning and Execution: Actively participate in sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives, ensuring alignment with the product roadmap and priorities established with the Director of Product.
- Acceptance Criteria and Quality: Define and accept user stories, ensuring they meet the definition of done and align with quality standards, as well as the overall product quality expectations set by the Director of Product.
- Performance Monitoring and Iteration: Monitor and analyze product performance, identify areas for improvement, and iterate on the product based on data and feedback, reporting key findings and proposed iterations to the Director of Product.
- Market and Competitive Analysis: Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and regulatory changes (including USPAP, Fannie Mae, and Freddie Mac guidelines) to inform product decisions and provide insights to the Director of Product.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including design, engineering, marketing, sales, and support, to ensure successful product delivery and adoption, keeping the Director of Product informed of key collaborations and potential roadblocks.
- New Feature Testing: Work closely with the business and technical teams to perform end-user testing, ensuring features are delivered in accordance to their initial requirements.
- Mentorship and Guidance: Provide guidance and mentorship to other product owners or business analysts on the team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment, under the leadership and direction of the Director of Product.
Qualifications
- 4-7 years of experience as a technical Product Owner or Business Analyst, preferably in a SaaS environment.
- Experience in the real estate technology industry is desirable
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize effectively and manage a product backlog.
- Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development environment.
- Ability to translate business needs and user requirements into clear and concise user stories.
- Experience with user research and data analysis to inform product decisions.
- Ability to build strong working relationships with cross-functional teams including excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience.
