Job summary

Dow has an exciting opportunity for a Counsel in its Litigation group. The preferred location is Midland, MI, but Houston, TX will also be considered. Your assignment will include litigation management for Dow and its affiliated companies.

This will include a wide range of litigation including Union Carbide Corporation's asbestos personal injury litigation, and other product liability litigation. As a Counsel, you will provide legal counsel, oversee external counsel, draft documents, manage

Qualifications

• Juris doctor or Master of Laws required.
• Minimum 7 years practicing as an attorney.
• Bar admission in US; eligible for admission.
• Willing to travel up to 25% annually.
• Must be able to work legally in the United States; no visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Independently provide legal counsel to clients.
• Review and draft legal documents.
• Actively manage external counsel and experts.
• Collaborate with internal legal subject matter experts.
• Oversee discovery and coordination with business clients.
• Set strategic direction for each case and related docket.
• Develop and implement settlement strategies.
• Proactively communicate to Legal Department management and clients.
• Participate directly in key depositions, hearings and trials.
• Oversee appellate issues.
