Job summary

Weiss-Aug MedPharma seeks a seasoned Product Innovation Engineer to lead the design and commercialization of surgical blades, needles, cannulas, and other precision sharps. You will bridge OEM customers, contract manufacturers, and internal product development teams to deliver high-quality, scalable solutions.

Ideal candidates bring 10+ years of engineering experience, deep know-how in metalworking and medical devices, and a proven track record of bringing concepts to market.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing/Materials Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of engineering experience.
• Experience with surgical blades, needles, cannulas, trocars, ophthalmic blades, or specialty cutting instruments.
• Experience supporting OEM medical device customers and contract manufacturers.
• Proven success taking products from concept through commercialization.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary technical resource for OEM customers, strategic accounts, and contract manufacturers.
• Collaborate with customer engineering, R&D, manufacturing, and sourcing teams to interpret product requirements.
• Design, develop, and commercialize innovative surgical blades, needles, cannulas, and other precision sharps technologies.
• Translate customer requirements into robust engineering specifications and manufacturable designs.
• Support prototyping, validation, scale-up, and continuous improvement.
