Job summary

Current Surgical Inc. is building a smart microinvasive needle to destroy tumors with precision and minimal tissue damage.

We are seeking a lead mechanical engineer to design, develop, and test our clinical prototype, working directly with the co-founders on tough hands-on challenges that span precision mechanics, MEMS electronics, microfluidics, and ultrasound physics. You will lead product development, trade off clinical requirements with engineering needs, and mentor early team members.

Qualifications

• BS/MS/PhD in mechanical engineering or closely related fields (e.g. biomedical engineering, mechatronics, robotics, experimental physics).
• 5-10 years work experience (regulated product development is a plus)

Responsibilities

• Lead product development across design, testing, and integration phases.
• Collaborate directly with co-founders to drive the clinical prototype to milestones.
• Interface with clinicians and interdisciplinary teams for preclinical studies and feedback.
