Hospitable.com is a remote-only, fully distributed company hiring a Senior Product Engineer to maintain momentum on the core platform and growth initiatives.

You will collaborate with product, engineering and success teams to build robust features using Laravel, PHP, and MySQL, while keeping the code maintainable and observable. This role supports a global time zone footprint and AI-forward development practices.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience with backend technologies.
• Significant experience with Laravel, PHP 7+, MySQL, and testing pipelines in deployed web apps.
• Hands‑on with agentic coding tools (Cursor, Claude Code, Copilot or similar).
• Eyes for testable, maintainable, and intuitive code with business value.
• Ability to think through non-obvious usage scenarios and ripple effects in complex systems.

Responsibilities

• Ship new core platform features 0-1 and iterate based on customer feedback.
• Work with cross‑functional teams to develop and ship features that solve problems.
• Build magical user experiences that are simple for customers and engineers to maintain.
• Partner with product, sales, and customer success to deliver value.
• Work within a monolithic codebase on a Kubernetes IaC stack and improve observability.
• Seek out and fix performance or bug issues with high impact on operations.
• Refactor core platform code to improve clarity, maintenance, and testability.
