Job summary

Microchip Technology Inc is seeking a senior-level Product Engineer focused on Planning and Project Management to advance dsPIC's mission by bringing structure, insight and execution discipline to semiconductor engineering, new product development and manufacturing operations.

This role supports collaboration across engineering workflows, AI-driven analytics and system automation to improve planning accuracy and reduce cycle times.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Operations, Data Science, CS or related technical field; equivalent experience may be considered.
• 5–7.5+ years of experience in engineering planning, manufacturing planning, product engineering support, semiconductor operations or related planning role.
• Understanding of semiconductor manufacturing flows: wafer fabrication, assembly, test, qualification, NPI processes.
• Working knowledge of AI, machine learning concepts, analytics and automation in engineering/manufacturing.
• Ability to manage complex tasks, changing priorities and cross-functional deliverables in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills; ability to influence teams without direct authority.

Responsibilities

• Support and execute engineering planning strategies for new product introductions, engineering builds, wafer lots, qualification activities, prototype builds and manufacturing transitions.
• Partner with product engineering, manufacturing, operations, planning, procurement, quality and business teams to align technical requirements, material readiness, capacity and execution timelines.
• Develop and use AI-enabled tools, analytics and automation concepts to improve planning accuracy and new product development efficiency; recommend corrective actions.
• Maintain accurate planning data across engineering systems including BOMs, routing, work orders, part records, inventory, and manufacturing readiness indicators.
• Coordinate cross-functional reviews to encourage timely communication, proactive problem solving and accountability for deliverables.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives that reduce manual effort, improve schedule visibility, strengthen data quality and execution predictability.
