Job summary

Microchip Technology Inc is seeking a Senior Engineer I - Product to lead and collaborate with global engineering teams on Security and Computing products. This high-visibility role drives New Product Development from design to mass production and supports customers with quality and reliability initiatives.

You will interface across engineering, applications, and supply chain to ensure successful product qualification and ramp.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Engineering or related field with 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Outstanding written and verbal skills are a must with a focus on attention to detail.
• Ability to communicate to various positions (planning, customer support, R&D Engineering, etc).
• Ability to successfully track and complete multiple tasks in parallel.
• Flexibility to communicate with different time zones as needed.
• Semiconductor packaging technology knowledge preferred.
• Automotive support knowledge with emphasis on die and package qualification preferred.
• Strong analytical skills to analyze validation, ATE datalogs, and fab electrical test data.
• Experience with bench laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, supplies, and meters.
• Ability to decipher PCB schematics.

Responsibilities

• Support New Product Development from design phase through mass production.
• Ramp new semiconductor products to successful production launch with cross-functional teams.
• Support customer returns and failure analysis with Applications and Quality Engineering teams.
• Interface with internal teams and external suppliers to resolve manufacturing issues.
• Prepare and manage project schedule, validation, characterization, qualification, and material control plans.
• Develop Burn-In PCB boards and supporting hardware/software for product qualification.
• Drive continuous improvement in product quality, cost, and delivery for existing products.
• Analyze production yields and yield limiters to solve manufacturing issues.
• Support foundry and assembly migration to increase capacity for customers.
