Collins Aerospace is a major supplier of aerospace and defense products, with a focus on deep space, low earth orbit, undersea, and ground systems, including international space programs. We design and manufacture Environmental Control and Life Support Systems for the International Space Station and submarines.

We are seeking a manufacturing engineer with an electro-mechanical background and experience in auxiliary power and/or mechanical actuation products. The ideal candidate will be independent, detail-oriented, and innovative in solving complex manufacturing issues.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Oversee and review production builds on the shop floor.
  2. Review hardware for reworks and repairs, and analyze hardware specifications.
  3. Investigate manufacturing defects and implement corrective actions.
  4. Support new program proposals with manufacturing estimates and plans.
  5. Establish touch labor cost targets and define tool and gage requirements.
  6. Support fabrication of initial units and implement engineering changes.
  7. Lead process improvement initiatives and non-conformance investigations.
  8. Establish tolerances, create product routings in SAP, and develop Job Instruction Sheets.
Qualifications:
  • Degree in STEM plus 5+ years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with 3+ years of experience.
  • At least 1 year of manufacturing experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with SolidWorks or similar CAD software.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Knowledge of SAP or similar ERP systems.
  • Process improvement experience (ACE, Lean Manufacturing).

Additional Information:
