Job summary

Shortcut is a remote-first company building a project management platform for software teams and their agents. This role centers on architecting and delivering agentic, LLM-powered features, with a focus on scalable architectures, retrieval, models, tool calls, and state management across contexts.

You will work as a full-stack Product Engineer, collaborating with Product and Design to ship with speed and quality, continuously evaluating models and prompts while maintaining robust eval harnesses.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience building SaaS web applications with agents and LLMs in production.
• Experience building evals, observability, or safety guardrails for LLM systems.
• Ability to structure work so agents execute effectively and verify outputs.
• Strong product sense, focusing on concrete outcomes and user problems.
• Comfort balancing speed and quality in rapidly changing tools.
• Experience with a state-synchronization framework.

Responsibilities

• Architect and implement customer-facing, LLM-based application layers.
• Design APIs for human and agent consumption.
• Evaluate and iterate on models, prompts, and eval pipelines for quality, latency, and cost.
• Take turns as the on-call engineer.
