Job summary

Nextdoor is seeking a Product Designer to shape the Search experience across discovery and content-heavy surfaces used by millions of neighbors and businesses. You will define how the UI supports typeahead, results, filters, and sponsored vs organic placements, while collaborating with PMs, data scientists, ML engineers, and researchers in an AI-first environment.

You will own design for experiments, consider monetization impact, and work across offices in a hybrid model.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of product design experience focused on search or dense content surfaces.
• Portfolio showing problem framing, interaction and visual design, prototyping.
• Experience partnering with ads or monetization teams.
• Ability to design for experimentation with PM and data science.

Responsibilities

• Establish the design foundation for Search including patterns and components.
• Design the full Search journey from typeahead through results and filters.
• Prioritize the everyday searcher experience with purpose-built interfaces.
• Collaborate with data science, ML engineering, and research to improve ranking.
• Define how sponsored and organic results coexist and are labeled.
• Prototype early, test hypotheses, and iterate based on experiments.
