Job summary

National Public Radio, Inc. is seeking a Senior Product Designer focused on growth and conversion. This role is remote-permitted, based in the Washington, D.C. area, and involves shaping end-to-end experiences across web, mobile, voice, and connected devices to engage audiences and drive long-term contributions.

You will work with researchers, PMs, and developers to inform product vision, contribute to design systems, and advocate inclusive, accessible experiences across NPR platforms.

Qualifications

• At least seven years of product design experience with mobile/web digital platforms.
• Proven ability to simplify complex experiences into intuitive designs that drive retention and conversion.
• UI expertise with scalable interaction patterns and design systems.
• Experience across desktop, mobile, and connected devices and internal tools.

Responsibilities

• Conceptualize and direct end-to-end design experiences and design systems.
• Gather requirements and translate into audience-focused goals.
• Collaborate with researchers, PMs, and developers on vision for products.
• Develop and evolve design systems and Figma libraries for consistency.
• Recommend user research and apply insights to changes.
• Understand audiences and how design decisions affect them.
• Work with developers to build prototypes and refine products.
• Lead design thinking sessions with partners.
