Job summary

Upgrade, Inc. is seeking a Senior Product Designer to lead end-to-end product design for Boost Money, BoostCash, and AI initiatives.

You will work closely with Product, Marketing, Engineering, and Legal to translate concepts into tangible flows and polished experiences that drive activation, conversion, and retention. We value a strong portfolio, expert Figma skills, and hands-on mentoring of junior designers.

Qualifications

• 6+ years experience in Product Design with a consumer mobile focus; ownership of end-to-end design in collaboration with Product, Marketing and Engineering.
• Excels in an agile environment with many stakeholders, bias for action and collaboration.
• Self-directed, detail-oriented, and organized; able to manage multiple projects at once.
• Expert Figma skills; mentoring juniors on best practices.
• Experience in fintech or regulated consumer spaces; design where compliance and privacy reviews shape UX.
• Strong portfolio of shipped case studies showing impact as individual contributor.
• Polished communication; can influence stakeholders and defend design decisions.
• AI is part of your process; portfolio includes projects where AI/automation changed design/workflow.
• Willing to work in person in our San Francisco office at least two days a week.
• Bonus: Experience with cash-advance, subscription, banking, lending products, or AI-enabled experiences.

Responsibilities

• Own product design for Boost Money, BoostCash, mobile banking products, and new AI initiatives.
• Collaborate with Product, Marketing, Engineering, and Legal to turn concepts into flows, prototypes, and polished experiences.
• Ship, test, and iterate design work to grow activation, conversion, and retention of funded customers.
• Clarify eligibility, fees, and repayment in the first interaction; reduce support inquiries.
• Manage multiple projects across product lines and keep stakeholders aligned.
• Contribute to and maintain the Upgrade Design System for consistency and efficiency.
• Mentor junior designers on Figma, AI, automation, and team culture.
