Job summary

Vellum is seeking a Senior Product Designer to define how AI products are built. You’ll shape interfaces, workflows, and systems that simplify and accelerate AI development for teams. You’ll spend time with customers, distill insights, and drive product direction through research, design, and rapid iteration.

You’ll lead discovery, own complex workflows, and evolve our design system, collaborating with engineers and product managers to deliver high-impact features with speed and craft.

Qualifications

• Portfolio with complex design work, ideally in AI tooling or dev platforms.
• Experience leading discovery and usability testing with customers.
• Deep expertise in Figma and building design systems at scale.
• Systems thinker who connects pixels to end-to-end user flows.
• Comfort with fast pace and shipping high-quality interfaces.
• Strong collaboration and clear communication across teams.
• Ambition to win in a competitive market and drive impact.

Responsibilities

• Lead product discovery: conduct interviews, synthesize insights, validate solutions.
• Own end-to-end design for complex, technical workflows and platforms.
• Translate AI concepts and user needs into clear, usable interfaces.
• Evolve Vellum’s design system for consistency and speed.
• Rapidly prototype ideas in Figma and sometimes code, with user validation.
• Collaborate closely with engineers and PMs to ship high-impact features.
• Iterate based on user feedback, data, and product instincts.
