Job summary

Stoughton Trailers, LLC is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to own product lines and manage options, keeping drawings up-to-date and working with the trailer configurator tool. You will support order releases, define bill of materials, and partner with manufacturing to optimize processes and reduce defects.

The role requires 7+ years in trailer design or related fields, strong FEA/structural analysis skills, and the ability to lead cross-functional projects while mentoring teammates

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• GD&T - Preferred.
• Knowledge of materials science for steel, aluminum, composites.

Responsibilities

• Product Line Ownership – Manages product line and options, keeps drawings and attributes up-to-date, works with the trailer configurator tool.
• Order Release Team Support - defines bill of materials to complete customer orders on time.
• Manufacturing Support – supports all production lines, directs prototype builds, improves manufacturing processes.
• Leads project definition, planning, and approval of identified projects considering cost, requirements, and feasibility.
• Serves as project leadership for multiple product development projects and oversees introductions to facility and product line.
• Collects cross-functional voice of customer to establish product specifications and performance requirements.
• Conceptual Design – leads development of functional designs with stakeholder feedback.
• Mentors team members in engineering systems, design, analysis or testing.
• Performs structural analysis using FEA to ensure integrity and regulatory compliance.
