Job summary

Fontaine Commercial Trailer, Inc. is seeking a Product Design Engineer to design and validate new trailer products and components. You will work with Sales, Operations, Design, and Supply Chain teams to deliver clean sheet designs and component documentation.

You will model and draft parts using CAE tools and coordinates with vendors and customers. The role requires strong leadership, cost-saving focus, and experience in a dynamic product-development environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum education: BS in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of experience, preferably in trailer, heavy equipment, or OEM transportation industry.
• Demonstrated efficiency in software including Siemens NX, ANSYS, Microsoft Office, Epicor ERP or similar system experience

Responsibilities

• Design and validate new trailer products and components in collaboration with Sales, Operations, Design, and Supply Chain teams.
• Develop and implement design procedures; generate Bills of Materials and process ECRs/ECNs.
• Analyze, model, and draft components using CAE tools; build and test physical samples; drive cost-saving ideas.
