Job summary

Formlabs in Boston is seeking a seasoned Mechatronic Product Designer to advance the company’s 3D printing technologies. You will contribute to research, development, and prototyping of new products, collaborating across mechanical, electrical, and software teams to push the boundaries of additive manufacturing.

The role emphasizes systems thinking, hands-on testing, and helping bring final designs into high-volume production, leveraging your expertise in tolerances and materials.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of hands-on mechanism and mechatronic product design experience.
  • Experience with cross-disciplinary hardware prototyping (mechanical, electrical, software).
  • Experience working with sensors and actuators.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with design and engineering teams to drive new product development.
  • Prototype and test new ideas, translating concepts into functional prototypes.
  • Support transition of designs into manufacturing with attention to tolerance and manufacturability.

We're a collaborative group driven by innovation and great product development to develop the Formlabs printing process and bring transformative products to market.The Job:In this role, you will work cross-functionally and have a pivotal role in the research, development, and implementation of new products. You will innovate new ways of doing things and work with the design teams to move 3d printing technology forward.
