Job summary

Collective is hiring a Senior Product Data Scientist to shape data-driven product decisions for our member platform. You’ll own metrics across incorporation, bookkeeping, tax, and payroll, turning behavior into actionable insights and guiding the roadmap with evidence.

You will build and maintain trusted datasets from production systems, ensure data quality, and partner with product, engineering, and finance to grow and retain self-employed members.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in data science, product analytics, analytics engineering, or data engineering.
• Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, statistics, or a technical field.
• Owner’s mindset: curiosity, initiative, and decision-focused.
• Ability to work across data and product analytics domains.
• SQL and Python (or R): expert level.
• Experience with modern data stack: BigQuery, dbt, Fivetran.
• Experiment design and interpretation for A/B/multivariate tests.
• Experience with Amplitude, Segment, Metabase or similar.
• Strong communication and storytelling with data.

Responsibilities

• Drive product strategy with stakeholders and shape the roadmap.
• Lead product analytics and translate data into insights.
• Apply data science to uncover member behavior and growth opportunities.
• Define and monitor metrics with clear business definitions.
• Own end-to-end data pipelines and trusted datasets.
• Build data products and semantic layers for decision support.
• Maintain data quality with tests and lineage.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enable decisions.
• Deliver insights with urgency and integrity.
