Job summary
Western Union seeks a senior legal leader to provide world-class oversight across business units and shared services in New York. You will guide strategic legal and regulatory support for global initiatives and products, working across teams to align legal risk with business goals.
You will review and negotiate complex partner agreements, advise on payments law and consumer financial regulations, and monitor evolving laws.
Qualifications
- 6–8+ years of legal experience, in-house or at a law firm.
- 3+ years in payments law, FinTech, or digital assets.
- Experience negotiating complex commercial deals with tech or financial services partners.
- Advice on payments law and consumer financial regulations (Reg E, CFPB, FTC).
- Experience launching e-money, wallets, digital assets or emerging payments.
Responsibilities
- Provide legal oversight to Western Union business units and services.
- Lead strategic regulatory support for global initiatives and products.
- Coordinate cross-functional legal advice to drive optimal outcomes.
- Review, draft, and negotiate strategic partner agreements.
- Advise business partners and coordinate with outside counsel.
- Research and monitor new and existing laws.
- Advise senior leadership on regulatory changes.
- Review product requirements for legal compliance.
- Drive customer value with a customer-first approach.
- May supervise one or more legal professionals.
