Job summary

Zendesk, a leader in AI-powered customer experiences, is seeking a Senior Product Counsel to support global AI products. You will advise on regulatory matters, privacy, and risk while enabling growth across product teams.

Reporting to the Director of Product, Privacy, and IP, you will collaborate with engineering, security, and commercial teams to shape AI strategy, ensure compliance, and mentor junior lawyers.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of legal experience, including at least 3+ years in-house
• Licensed to practice law in your jurisdiction
• Experience advising AI and/or software product development teams
• Experience navigating global AI regulation and privacy laws (EU AI Act, GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA)

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic legal guidance to product, engineering and business leadership
• Shape AI strategy and compliance programs for AI software products
• Support sales, marketing and customer trust initiatives with regulatory insight
• Engage with regulators and industry groups on AI regulatory matters
• Mentor junior lawyers and drive efficient legal review processes
