Job summary

NextDecade is seeking a Product Control Manager to oversee P&L integrity, valuations, and risk reporting, partnering with Front Office, Risk, Credit, and Accounting. This role sits at the intersection of financial control, commercial decision support, and risk governance, ensuring forward-looking insights as trading grows.

The role also leads a team of product control professionals, champions strong governance, and drives system enhancements in a complex commodity environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics, or a related field.
• Typically 8–12+ years of experience in Product Control, Trading Support, Market Risk, or Commercial Finance in energy/commodities or trading.
• Hands-on experience with ETRM/CTRM platforms and strong control mindset.

Responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end daily, monthly, and quarterly P&L processes, including validation, attribution, and variance analysis across physical and financial commodities.
• Review and challenge trading results, ensuring issues are identified, escalated, and resolved with independence.
• Interface with Front Office, Market Risk, and Credit to ensure consistent views of exposure, limits, and performance.
• Design, own, and continuously enhance product control policies, procedures, and internal controls aligned with audits and regulatory expectations.
• Lead, coach, and develop a team of product control and trading support professionals.
