As a leading MGA, MSI combines deep underwriting expertise with insurer risk capacity to create specialized insurance solutions that empower distribution partners to meet customers’ unique needs. We have a passion for crafting solutions for the important risks facing individuals and businesses. We offer an expanding suite of products – from fully-digital embedded renters coverage to high-value homeowners insurance to sophisticated commercial coverages, such as cyber liability and habitational property – delivered through agents, brokers, wholesalers and other brand partners.

Our partners and customers count on us to deliver exceptional service through a dedicated team that makes rapid resolutions a priority. We simplify the insurance experience through our advanced technology platform that supports every phase of the policy lifecycle. Bring on your challenges and let us show you how we build insurance better.

Position Summary:

We are looking for a motivated colleague to join our fast-growing Product Management team. This team is charged with developing new and innovative insurance products as well as managing our growing and increasingly diversified national portfolio of admitted and surplus lines products. More flexible and fast-paced than a traditional carrier, we are seeking an individual with an insurance background who is energized by a highly collaborative environment and is eager to build products, processes, and structures from the ground up!

As a Senior Product Analyst supporting our national admitted Homeowners program, you will work closely with the product team, IT, and compliance to drive growth via our modern technology platform. You will also analyze the health of existing programs to ensure ongoing profitability, competitiveness, and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Collaborate with the Product Team, internal and external associates, and vendors to support new product introduction, enhancements, and market entry to achieve profit and growth targets.
  2. Work with business partners on rate and rule revisions, including scope, timelines, and implementation of changes.
  3. Participate in the analysis and implementation of new products, and analyze state performance post-implementation to identify areas for further research.
  4. Use mathematical and statistical techniques to assess profitability and competitive positioning, and recommend actions to improve performance.
  5. Review insurance filings, including rate algorithms, underwriting guidelines, and forms, to recommend improvements for product launches and updates.
  6. Perform other duties as needed to support organizational growth.
Primary Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in economics, business, mathematics/statistics, finance, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • At least 3 years of experience in insurance product management preferred.
  • Ability to link multiple data sources and organize data for analysis.
  • Knowledge of SQL, SAS, R, Python, Tableau, or similar; intermediate to advanced Excel skills required.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Problem-solving mindset with analytical thinking and agility.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to changing business needs.
  • Self-motivated with a proactive attitude.
  • Team player capable of delivering results efficiently to diverse stakeholders.
