Job summary

WFMT, Chicago's classical music radio station, needs a Producer - Radio Content to lead the creation and delivery of Exploring Music and other WFMT content. The role demands deep classical music knowledge, strong writing/editing, and advanced audio production skills.

You will partner with hosts and producers, manage production workflows, edit interviews, and curate archival material for broadcast while collaborating with marketing and WFMT Radio Network teams.

Qualifications

• 8-10+ years producing and mixing audio content in classical radio.
• Deep knowledge of classical repertoire and performing arts.
• Strong writing and editing of radio scripts.
• Experience with live radio broadcast operations.
• Membership in SAG-AFTRA is required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Exploring Music production from concept through delivery of finished programs.
• Develop show topics, research, write, edit, and proof scripts.
• Select archival Exploring Music episodes for broadcast.
• Prepare and edit interviews with artists and contributors.
• Assemble and mix complete episodes, promos, fundraising segments and more.
• Collaborate with marketing, development and WFMT Radio Network teams.
• Contribute to other WFMT content and projects as assigned.
