Job summary

New York Public Radio seeks a Morning Host for WQXR to lead the live weekday morning broadcast with a warm, engaging and conversational delivery. You will voice promos, underwriting credits, and imaging spots, while ideating and hosting specialty on-air classical features and shows.

You will use playout, production, and automation systems in line with FCC rules, and participate in live events. A 5+ year background in classical radio and strong copywriting are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of professional live, on-air radio experience (classical music).
• Strong copywriting and storytelling for on-air and digital.
• Excellent pronunciation and multilingual capabilities in context of classical programming.

Responsibilities

• Host the live WQXR morning broadcast 5 days a week.
• Maintain a warm, engaging vibe and conversational delivery.
• Voice promos, underwriting credits, and imaging spots.
• Host specialty on-air classical features and shows.
• Use playout and automation systems per FCC rules.
• Host or co-host live broadcasts and station events.
• Provide backup hosting for alternate shifts.
