We are looking for a creative, tenacious, and news-obsessed senior producer to join New Media and help lead several ambitious news video projects. In this role, you’ll oversee the production of daily and weekly shows covering national news, working closely with talent, executive producers, editors, and post-production teams to create compelling, must-watch programming. You’ll own the editorial and production process from concept to publication—developing episode ideas, shaping scripts, booking guests, guiding edits, and ensuring every episode is timely, distinctive, and engaging. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-moving news environment, has exceptional editorial instincts, and knows how to turn major news events into videos audiences actively seek out and share.

- Pitch sharp, timely segment ideas at the pace of the news cycle.
- Identify and book high-caliber, relevant reporter guests.
- Lead end-to-end episode production, including hands-on management of remote studio recordings.
- Collaborate with the post team to shape clear, engaging videos.
- Manage associate producer across booking, research, scheduling, and publishing workflows.
- Oversee production calendars, timelines, and communication to ensure consistent on-time delivery that is varied and strategic over the course of the week.
- Identify opportunities to expand audience reach, strengthen the brand, and experiment with approaches.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience producing news television, digital video, podcasts, or other editorial programming.
- Strong editorial judgment and a demonstrated ability to translate complex topics into compelling content.
- Deep understanding of the American news landscape and a strong instinct for what audiences care about now.
- Experience working directly with on-screen talent and helping shape their voice and output.
- Familiarity with production tools and workflows (e.g., microphones, cameras, Riverside, Premiere, Canva, etc.).
- Ability to work quickly and decisively while maintaining high editorial standards.
- Willingness to respond to major breaking news events outside traditional business hours when necessary.
- Passion about the mission of national (and local) news and commitment to thoughtful, respectful engagement across differing viewpoints.
