Job summary

Newsmax Media, Inc. is seeking an experienced Senior/Executive Producer to lead a major television program from pre-production through the live broadcast. You will curate the rundown, direct editorial decisions, and manage the production team to ensure high-quality coverage.

The role requires proactive leadership, strong writing, and the ability to coordinate with hosts, guests, and multiple production units while adapting to developing stories and breaking news.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, or similar.
• 5+ years of live television news production experience, including significant Executive Producer or Senior Producer experience.
• Strong live control-room and breaking-news experience.
• Experience working directly with on-air talent and managing a production team.
• Strong writing, editorial, and organizational skills.
• Ability to make quick editorial decisions and remain composed under pressure.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team with strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with newsroom/rundown systems and broadcast production tools.
• Team player with effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Proactive and solutions focused.
• Willingness to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours as needed.

Responsibilities

• Determine the best news stories for the program and create the daily rundown.
• Lead the program from pre-production through the live broadcast.
• Manage and adjust the rundown as news develops during the live broadcast.
• Collaborate with show hosts and on-air talent in program preparation and execution.
• Provide direction to hosts and production staff and address editorial or production issues as they arise.
• Identify compelling news stories and develop story ideas, research, and plan segments.
• Manage breaking news and make real-time editorial decisions when coverage changes.
• Coordinate with producers, associate producers, booking producers, assignment editors, reporters, digital teams, and other newsroom personnel.
• Oversee the selection and integration of guests into the program.
• Oversee the production and accuracy of video, graphics, live shots, packages, and other visual elements.
• Lead and communicate with the control room during the live broadcast, including coordination with the director, producers, graphics, video, audio, and technical teams.
• Delegate responsibilities as appropriate to producers, associate producers, and booking producers.
• Supervise and provide feedback to production staff.
• Ensure content is accurate, properly sourced, and meets editorial standards.
• Stay up to date with domestic and international news, politics, and current events.
• Monitor program performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
