Job summary

Flow Control Group is seeking a Senior Buyer to source and purchase data-center equipment including air compressors, pumps, valves, piping, and fabricated skids. The role focuses on both stocked distribution and engineered-to-order projects, requiring deep knowledge of BOMs, drawings, and supplier relationships.

Ideal candidates will have 7+ years in purchasing within manufacturing and distribution, strong ERP/MRP skills, and the ability to manage multiple suppliers while ensuring on-time

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; seven+ years in purchasing/supply-chain.
• Experience in both manufacturing and distribution environments.
• Experience sourcing industrial equipment and engineered-to-order projects anticipated.
• Must understand BOMs, drawings, specifications, and BOM data.

Responsibilities

• Source and purchase air compressors, pumps, valves, piping components, and related materials for data-center applications.
• Manage purchasing for stocked and engineered-to-order projects.
• Review customer requirements and production schedules to determine material needs.
• Issue RFQs, analyze supplier proposals, negotiate pricing, and issue POs.
• Develop sourcing strategies to improve availability, reduce cost, and shorten lead times.
• Collaborate with Engineering/Project Management for technically compliant components.
• Monitor POs, supplier acknowledgments, and delivery commitments.
