Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a procurement professional to drive sourcing strategies across assigned categories, ensuring alignment with production timelines, cost targets, and plant constraints. You will source, evaluate and negotiate with suppliers to secure best terms and quality, manage supplier selections and awards, and lead contract negotiations with SOWs to meet business needs.

The role requires 5–10 years of procurement experience in industrial or medical production goods, strong negotiation

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 5–10 years’ experience in procurement or purchasing for industrial or medical production goods.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Knowledge of SAP ERP.
• Strong decision-making and sense of urgency.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, verbal and written communication.
• Willingness to travel at least 30% and obtain a valid passport.

Responsibilities

• By commodities, lead execution of sourcing strategies for assigned categories, ensuring alignment with production timelines, cost targets, and plant-specific operational and regulatory constraints
• Source, evaluate and negotiate with suppliers to secure the best terms and quality
• Manage supplier selection decision making and supplier awarding
• Lead contract negotiations with suppliers, including development and execution of Statements of Work (SOWs), ensuring alignment with business requirements, cost objectives, risk mitigation, and regulatory/compliance standards
• Develop plans to establish continuity of supply in support of plant build plans and spare part demand plans
• Ensure quality, delivery, order accuracy, and competitive pricing through continuous follow-up with suppliers and end users
• Make recommendations on the use of alternate materials, evaluate and provide feedback on supplier performance
• Visit suppliers to assess supplier capability to meet quality, delivery, and strategic requirements
• Conduct all purchasing activities in compliance with company policy and objectives
• Ensure compliance with legal requirements and ethical standards
• Maintain SAP system purchasing data to ensure MRP requirements are generated in a proper manner
• Work with SAP Data Administration team to create material numbers and vendor profiles in SAP
• Coaches, trains and mentor other employees, i.e. Procurement Specialists

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree
• 5-10 years’ experience in procurement, purchasing in the industrial or medical application of production goods
• Strong negotiation, communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities
• Good Knowledge of SAP ERP
• Strong decision‑making skills and high sense of urgency
• Strong analytical, organizational, verbal and written communication skills
• Must have the ability to travel a minimum of 30% of the time and have the ability to obtain a valid passport
• Ability to communicate and interact effectively at all levels within the organization and with outside vendors/suppliers
