Job summary

Panelmatic, Inc. in Houston seeks an experienced Purchasing Manager – Switchgear & Relay Panels to lead procurement of switchgear components and electrical assemblies for engineered-to-order projects.

You will own supplier strategy, negotiate terms, manage long-lead materials, and collaborate with Engineering, Project Management, Operations, Quality, Planning, and Sales to ensure timely delivery at competitive costs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
• 7+ years purchasing/procurement experience in electrical equipment or engineered-to-order manufacturing.
• Experience sourcing electrical components and negotiating with OEMs and distributors.
• Strong knowledge of switchgear, relay panels, and power-distribution components.
• Experience with supplier lead times and capacity constraints.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute procurement strategies for medium- and low-voltage switchgear and related components.
• Own purchasing execution from PO release through delivery on assigned projects.
• Review BOMs and drawings to identify procurement requirements and long-lead items.
• Negotiate pricing, terms, lead times, and commercial agreements with suppliers.
• Manage supplier scorecards and drive corrective actions when needed.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Planning, Operations, and Quality to align material availability with schedules.
