Job summary

Panelmatic, Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented Lead Electrical Engineer to create and review models and BOMs for power distribution equipment including Metal-Clad Switchgear, Metal-Enclosed Switchgear and Panelboards.

The Lead Electrical Engineer will lead design efforts, review projects, release BOMs for purchasing, and implement new designs into production systems, while mentoring the engineering team and interfacing with customers as needed.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering degree required.
• 10+ years experience in medium voltage switchgear design or equivalent.
• AutoCAD and SolidWorks required.
• Knowledge of control circuits, transfer schemes, differential schemes, PT/CPT load calculations.
• Experience in front elevation, three-line and one-line creation.
• Experience turning quote and customer specifications into complete drawing package for customer/construction.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• US work authorization without sponsorship required.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of electrical packages for switchgear projects (e.g., one-lines, three-lines, schematics, wiring diagrams, BOMs).
• Conduct a technical review of project.
• Release bill of material for purchasing and fabrication.
• Incorporate new product designs/modifications into production engineering systems.
• Provide support to product development for modeling and DFM.
• Support creation and maintenance of standard designs and configurations.
• Assist manufacturing with product and project questions/issues.
• Provide technical support to purchasing and sourcing as needed.
• Mentor other engineers on the team.
• Interact with mechanical engineering, project management, and customers as required.
• Communicate job status and potential issues with supervisor.
• Support engineering systems and processes; supervise team as needed.
