Job summary

CIP Terra Technologies is seeking a Senior Procurement Manager to lead CAPEX procurement for Solar PV, BESS, and HV equipment in the Americas. The role reports to the VP Procurement, Americas and supports major renewable energy projects across the region.

The ideal candidate will have 6–10+ years in procurement/commercial roles, experience with high-value packages, and strong risk-based contract structuring. Location: Chicago, IL or Houston, TX preferred; other locations considered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, supply chain, business, or a related field.
• 6–10+ years of procurement, commercial, or contract management experience in renewable energy.
• Experience procuring CAPEX equipment for solar PV, BESS, and HV systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement CAPEX procurement strategies aligned with project schedules and portfolio priorities.
• Oversee the full sourcing process from RFIs/RFPs to bid assessment, negotiation and contract award.
• Structure procurement approaches under multi-contract models (supply-only, full service, supply & install).
• Oversee commercial negotiations with global OEMs including pricing, delivery, warranties and performance guarantees.
• Identify and manage strategic suppliers across Solar PV, BESS, and HV equipment.
• Manage contracting for supply, service and framework agreements.
• Coordinate with Legal and Engineering on risk allocation, LDs, technical guarantees and interfaces.
• Review project cost structures and promote cost optimization.

The Senior Procurement Manager will become part of the Americas Procurement team, reporting to the VP Procurement, Americas, and supporting the development and execution of large-scale renewable energy projects across the Americas.

The role works closely with Development, Engineering, Construction, Investment, and Legal teams to ensure procurement strategies align with project timelines, financing requirements, and long-term asset value.

Role This role is focused on CAPEX Equipment procurement for Solar PV (modules and BoS), Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), and High Voltage (HV) equipment such as transformers, circuit breakers, etc. The position is purely procurement-focused, with responsibility for commercial strategy, supplier engagement, and contract negotiation across a portfolio of projects.

The preferred location for the role is Chicago or Houston; however, we are open to considering candidates based in other locations.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement CAPEX procurement strategies aligned with project development schedules and portfolio priorities
• Oversee the full sourcing process, from RFIs and RFPs through bid assessment, negotiation, and contract award
• Structure procurement approaches under multi-contract models (supply-only / full service, supply & install)
• Oversee commercial negotiations with global OEMs, including pricing, delivery timelines, warranties, and performance guarantees
• Identify, evaluate, and manage strategic suppliers across Solar PV, BESS, and HV equipment
• Manage contracting for supply agreements, service agreements, and relevant framework agreements
• Coordinate with Legal and Engineering teams on risk allocation, LDs, technical guarantees, and contract interfaces
• Review project cost structures and promote cost optimization across key packages

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree in engineering, supply chain, business, or a related field with 6–10+ years of experience in procurement, commercial, or contract management roles, including experience procuring CAPEX equipment within renewable energy. You have demonstrated the ability to manage complex sourcing and negotiations for high-value packages, and bring solid commercial judgment with experience in risk allocation and contract structuring. Moreover, you are a highly responsible and motivated individual who is thriving in a highly effective and innovative environment.

Key Skills and Experience

• Experience in Solar PV, BESS, or HV procurement is strongly preferred, as is a working understanding of PV, BESS, and/or HV systems.
