Job summary

Direct Wire in Lancaster County seeks a Senior Procurement Manager to lead purchasing strategies, control inventory, and ensure best value across materials and services. You will collaborate with internal teams to define requirements, manage supplier relationships, and align procurement with business goals.

Qualifications

  • BS degree in supply chain management, logistics, or business administration or equivalent experience.
  • CPPO, Certified Purchasing Manager, Certified Contract Negotiator, CPPB, or other advanced certification preferred.
  • 5+ years' experience in procurement of materials/equipment/supplies and contracts in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in commodity management for metals, compounds and resins preferred.
  • Proven working experience as purchasing function manager.
  • Expertise in sourcing and vendor management and development.
  • Interest in market dynamics and strong business sense.
  • Skilled at negotiation and networking with internal and external stakeholders.
  • ERP and other analytical software experience; ability to gather/analyze data and generate reports.

Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively within the company in support of Core Values and Business Plans.
  • Develop, lead, and execute purchasing strategies.
  • Develop and report key metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness.
  • Craft negotiation strategies and close deals with optimal terms.
  • Partner with stakeholders to ensure clear requirements documentation.
  • Monitor and forecast price and market trends to identify changes in buyer-supplier power.
  • Monitor commodity trends and recommend action plans to mitigate risk and leverage opportunities.
  • Buy key commodities.
  • Develop cost and scenario analysis and benchmarking processes.
  • Assess, manage, and mitigate risks.
  • Establish SOPs for purchasing; monitor effectiveness and revise processes.
  • Seek and partner with reliable vendors; develop supplier performance metrics with annual audits.
  • Exercise discretion and judgement.
  • Draft proposals, review contracts, modify terms, and communicate clearly both orally and in writing.

The Senior Procurement Manager is responsible for developing and maintaining the organization's supply chain protocols, procedures, and strategy to ensure an uninterrupted supply of goods and services at the best value for the company. This position requires a dynamic leader with excellent organizational, analytical and communication skills. The Senior Procurement Manager will be the accountable seat that controls inventory and the cost of goods for the company and needs to have the integrity, drive, and business acumen to best meet the business needs of Direct while modeling our Core Values.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Work collaboratively within the company in support of the Core Values, Team Charter and Business Plans
  • Develop, lead, and execute purchasing strategies.
  • Develop and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness.
  • Craft negotiation strategies and close deals with optimal terms
  • Partner with stakeholders to ensure clear requirements documentation.
  • Monitor and forecast price and market trends to identify changes of balance in buyer-supplier power.
  • Monitor commodity trends for key commodities. Recommend action plans to mitigate risk and leverage opportunities.
  • Buy key commodities.
  • Develop process for cost and scenario analysis and benchmarking.
  • Assess, manage, and mitigate risks.
  • Establish standard operating procedures for purchasing; monitor the effectiveness of procedures; revise and improve purchasing processes.
  • Seek and partner with reliable vendors and suppliers; develop supplier performance metrics with annual audits of key suppliers and recognition for outstanding service.
  • Exercise discretion and judgment
  • Draft proposals, review contracts, modify terms and conditions, express ideas clearly and concisely both orally and in written form.
REQUIREMENTS
  • BS degree in supply chain management, logistics, or business administration or equivalent experience.
  • CPPO, Certified Purchasing Manager, Certified Contract Negotiator, CPPB, or other advanced certification in procurement and/or contract administration preferred.
  • 5+ years' experience in the procurement of materials/equipment/supplies and the development and review of contracts in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in commodity management for metals, compounds and resins preferred.
  • Proven working experience as purchasing function manager.
  • Expertise in sourcing and vendor management and development
  • Interest in market dynamics along with a keen business sense
  • Skilled at negotiation and networking with internal and external stakeholders
  • Working experience of ERP and other analytical softwareAbility to gather and analyze data, create reports and to work with figures.
  • Solid judgement and sound decision-making skills
