Job summary

PrideStaff - Visalia, CA is seeking a Procurement Supervisor to lead purchasing operations, optimize supplier relationships, and drive cost-effective, compliant material acquisition. The role oversees planning, inventory, and a procurement team to deliver continuous improvements.

Qualifications include a Associate's or Bachelor's degree and 3–5 years in procurement, with at least 2 years in supervision. Food/regulatory manufacturing exp. is preferred.

• 3–5 years of procurement experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
• Food or regulated manufacturing experience is strongly preferred.
• Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems and advanced Microsoft Excel.
• Strong negotiation, analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Strategic Sourcing & Vendor Management: Negotiate pricing, contracts, and service agreements. Evaluate supplier performance, resolve discrepancies, and build strong partnerships to ensure the right quality, quantity, and delivery times.
• Inventory & Cost Control: Collaborate with Production and Warehouse teams to forecast material needs, optimize inventory levels, and identify cost-saving opportunities while managing purchasing budgets.
• Quality & Compliance: Ensure all procured materials and documentation comply with company specifications, HACCP, GMP, FDA, and FSSC 22000 standards.
• Team Leadership: Supervise, recruit, and develop purchasing staff. Establish departmental goals and monitor performance metrics.
• Continuous Improvement: Drive ERP optimizations (Microsoft Dynamics AX/D365), streamline purchasing operations, and implement strategic sourcing projects.

Procurement Supervisor

Work Environment & Physical Demands Primarily an office environment with regular visits to manufacturing and warehouse areas (exposure to moderate noise and forklift traffic). Must be able to stand, walk, climb stairs, and lift up to 25 pounds.
