Job summary

Saicon in Austin, Texas is seeking an experienced hardware test engineer to join a highly technical team responsible for developing test plans and validating new processor silicon interface features with a strong focus on power management.

You will execute electrical and functional test plans for processors using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and validation tools, and you will debug issues while contributing to platform definitions and mentoring junior engineers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Electrical/Electronics Engineering with 5-7 years related experience.
• Master's degree plus 5+ years related experience (advanced degree a plus).
• Experience with platform level electrical & functional test plans.
• Platform level electrical characterization experience with processor I/O interfaces preferred.
• Experience debugging processor & PC platform I/O interfaces.
• Proficient with oscilloscopes, reading schematics/layouts, MS Windows and MS Office.
• Strong written and oral communication; ability to work with multiple engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop test plans and perform functional & electrical validation for new processor silicon interface features with focus on power management.
• Write electrical & functional test plans for the processor interface validation of processors.
• Execute electrical & functional test plans for client processors using hardware & software validation tools, oscilloscopes, & logic analyzers.
• Debug electrical & functional issues for new processors.
• Provide input into platform definition & review platform designs used in silicon validation of new processors.
• Provide technical guidance and training to less experienced engineers and technicians in planning, test, & debug processor validation.
