Job summary

Saicon in Austin, Texas is seeking an experienced hardware test engineer to join a highly technical team responsible for developing test plans and validating new processor silicon interface features with a strong focus on power management.

You will execute electrical and functional test plans for processors using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and validation tools, and you will debug issues while contributing to platform definitions and mentoring junior engineers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Electrical/Electronics Engineering with 5-7 years related experience.
• Master's degree plus 5+ years related experience (advanced degree a plus).
• Experience with platform level electrical & functional test plans.
• Platform level electrical characterization experience with processor I/O interfaces preferred.
• Experience debugging processor & PC platform I/O interfaces.
• Proficient with oscilloscopes, reading schematics/layouts, MS Windows and MS Office.
• Strong written and oral communication; ability to work with multiple engineering teams.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:

• Bachelors in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering with 5-7 years of related experience
• Masters plus at least 5+ years directly related experience (an advanced degree will be considered a plus)
• Requires experience and demonstrated technical expertise in the development & execution of platform level electrical & functional test plans
• Platform level electrical characterization experience with processor I/O interfaces is considered, preferred
• Requires experience and demonstrated technical expertise in the debug of processor & PC platform I/O interfaces
• Demonstrated experience with or knowledge using oscilloscopes, reading schematics and layout documentation, and MS Windows and Office applications
• Requires good written and oral communication skills
• Demonstrate the ability to communicate with a variety of engineering disciplines and management.
