Job summary

Westlake Chemical Corporation is seeking a Safety & Compliance leader at our Plaquemine, LA site to coordinate process safety and risk management programs. You will develop corporate PSM procedures and support site teams in achieving safety excellence through training and audits.

The role requires a CSP credential (preferred), a bachelor’s degree in safety-related fields, and 8+ years in industrial safety or PSM within chemicals. Strong communication and project leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Industrial Technology with Safety emphasis, or Engineering or equivalent required.
• Certified Safety Professional (CSP) designation is preferred.
• Minimum of 8 years plant or division level Health & Safety experience in chemicals manufacturing; previous PSM experience preferred.
• Background must include industrial safety, process safety management, and safety auditing experience.
• Strong facilitation, interpersonal and computer skills with good verbal and written communication abilities.
• Capable of managing multiple projects.
• Exhibits positivity, passion, integrity and accountability.
• Able to work in a team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates site process safety management and risk management programs.
• Develops and implements corporate PSM programs and procedures.
• Assist site management teams in PSM efforts.
• Monitor and revise the site’s PSM and Risk Management Programs to meet OSHA, EPA, and DEQ requirements.
• Manage PSM, RMP and Insurance audit programs for the Plaquemine facility.
• Develop and provide training for compliance and improvement in PSM areas.
• Provide technical expertise and guidance on regulatory compliance.
• Engage with regulatory, community and employee stakeholders to address needs.
