Job summary

Vulcan Elements is seeking a Process Safety Engineer to implement and maintain its Process Safety Management programs in North Carolina. This role will lead cross-functional efforts to ensure safe and compliant operations while reducing operational risks and fostering a strong safety culture throughout the facility.

The ideal candidate will have significant experience in process safety management, a strong engineering background, and a commitment to excellence and transparency in safety practices. A focus on collaboration and communication is essential in this pivotal role.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in process safety management.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA PSM, EPA RMP, NFPA, API, and other relevant industry standards.
• Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence without direct authority.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the site’s Process Safety Management program.
• Develop, implement, and oversee all PSM program elements including Incident investigations.
• Analyze process safety metrics and develop reports to leadership.

Experience conducting PHAs

Education

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent experience
