Job summary

Zero Carbon Systems is seeking a Process Modeling Engineer to bridge modeling, design, and plant operations. You will leverage internal models to establish operating points for the demo and production facilities, while refining TEA and capital estimates and communicating results to leadership and external reviewers.

The role supports optimization across weather, location, and plant configuration, delivering accurate equipment lists, sizing, and cost estimates with Excel, ACM, and ACCE

Qualifications

• TEA experience for highly integrated industrial processes.
• Hands-on process engineering experience in an industrial setting or chemical manufacturing plant.
• Strong ability to communicate complex numerical results clearly to leadership and external reviewers.

Responsibilities

• Use and develop internal process modeling tools to guide operating points for demo and production facilities.
• Update and refine process models based on design changes and data.
• Translate models into Excel outputs for equipment lists, sizing, and stream tables; automate with VBA.
• Collaborate to translate model outputs into cost estimation tools and reconcile with external estimates.
• Specify equipment and cost bases using ACCE and vendor quotes; develop shortcut models for quick reviews.
• Coordinate with drafters to keep PFDs and P&IDs aligned with models.
• Integrate design updates into demo facility and provide vendor feedback on equipment pricing.
• Identify opportunities to reduce energy, CapEx, and OpEx through design optimization and TEA.
