Blue Origin seeks a senior Process/Automation Engineer to own the SPM line from commissioning to steady-state production. You will implement MES integration, develop SOPs, and drive process improvements with PLC/controls expertise on a high-volume production line at the SCOE facility.

The role requires hands-on ownership of line commissioning, operator-ready procedures, and collaboration with vendors to meet strict yield and rate targets in a safety-conscious aerospace environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• 7+ years of experience in process/manufacturing/automation engineering in high-volume production.
• Hands-on experience with PLC programming/integration and MES interfacing.
• Experience developing SOPs, work instructions, or control plans for active production.
• Experience diagnosing production equipment or process issues on the production floor.

Responsabilités

• Support NPI Systems Engineer during SPM line design, delivery, and commissioning by translating system requirements into equipment configurations and process parameters.
• Develop and own SOPs and work instructions for the SPM line from cell intake through PVA build as equipment arrives and processes are validated.
• Serve as the MES buildout partner; stay embedded in PLC/controls activities to ensure yield tracking, traceability, and in-process data are captured.
• Own or drive process-improvement efforts: root-cause yield loss and equipment/process issues on the floor and feed changes back into SOPs and control plans.
• Collaborate with equipment vendors and Manufacturing Engineers during on-site commissioning to validate process capability against rate targets.
• Transition from implementation support toward sustaining and process-improvement ownership as production scales to full-rate.
• Flag production-consequence changes early to influence equipment and process specs still in development.
