Job summary

Blue Origin's Factory Automation team within Operations is seeking an experienced Project Engineer to design, build, and deploy automated manufacturing systems across our facilities. You will own projects from requirements through commissioning, collaborating with design, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to deliver production-ready solutions.

The role requires hands-on mechanical or controls engineering experience, ability to lead cross-functional projects, and familiarity with simulation

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Controls, Mechatronics, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years hands‑on experience designing, building, and commissioning automated manufacturing systems; at least 2 years in a leadership role on capital equipment or automation projects.
• Hands‑on automation experience in mechanical design and controls engineering to lead teams.
• Experience with automation simulation and cycle time analysis using Process Simulate, Visual Components, FlexSim, or similar.
• U.S. citizen or permanent resident, or eligible to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Engage internal customers to define, document, and validate system requirements for automated manufacturing solutions
• Develop simulations and cycle time models to optimize automation strategies
• Develop initial conceptual solutions and justify to stakeholders
• Lead DFAI initiatives with design teams to improve manufacturability
• Own project execution from requirements to commissioning, including schedule and budget
