Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a driven Process-Mechanical Engineer to support water and wastewater projects locally in Hawaii and across the Western United States.

Required are a BS in civil or mechanical engineering and a PE license, with at least 8 years in project delivery and plant design. The role emphasizes collaboration, data analysis, and rigorous technical problem-solving in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil or mechanical engineering or related field.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.
• Minimum of 8 years of progressive process mechanical engineering and project delivery experience in water/wastewater/industrial treatment.
• Educational emphasis and interest in treatment/mechanical system design and operation.
• Self-motivated, team-oriented, strong data analysis and organizational skills; able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Evaluate pumping, treatment, and process options to determine best approaches for client challenges.
• Communicate complex problems and solutions with clients.
• Plan and design full-scale pumping, treatment systems, and plant improvements for construction.
• Develop facility layouts and P&IDs.
• Create construction documents, drawings, and specifications.
• Evaluate and select process equipment, pumping systems, pipes, and valves.
• Perform data analysis and computer modeling.
• Prepare technical reports.
• Provide bidding and permitting support.
• Support construction services and field inspections of equipment.
