Sydney Water is seeking a senior process engineer to provide technical support for Riverstone wastewater treatment plant capital projects, from concept to handover. You will collaborate with planners, major projects and operations to optimise performance and Resource Recovery while emphasising safety in design.

The role requires a degree in Chemical/Process/Mechanical Engineering and 8+ years of design and operation experience in water/wastewater, along with strong data analysis and

Qualifications

• Degree in Chemical/Process or Mechanical Engineering.
• 8+ years demonstrated experience in design, operation and optimisation of plant.
• Water/waste water industry knowledge and experience.
• Strong technical report writing and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure projects are fit for purpose across all phases—planning, design, construction, commissioning, and operations.
• Support capital and growth projects with technical input and ensure alignment with Sydney Water standards.
• Lead resolution of complex technical and process issues, contribute to product quality and specification development, and drive standardization through technical manuals and process descriptions.
• Provide input into research, development, and pilot trials of new technologies and instrumentation.
• Ensure safety in design, construction, and commissioning, lead safety initiatives and investigations.
• Implement new systems including instrumentation, control upgrades, and process modelling.
