Job summary

McCarl's Technical Services in Pittsburgh is seeking a dedicated Process Engineer with a strong focus on process safety to lead the design and optimization of heavy industrial processes across chemical, oil & gas, pharmaceutical, and minerals sectors. You will collaborate with Engineering & Design and construction teams to deliver robust deliverables.

The role requires a BS in chemical engineering and expertise in process safety practices (PHA, HAZOP, PSM, OSHA), plus experience with PFDs,

Qualifications

BS in chemical engineering or related field.
Demonstrated experience in process safety, including PHA participation, PSM implementation, and compliance.
Working knowledge of industry standard design practices and engineering principles.

Responsibilities

Create process engineering deliverables, including design, analysis, and optimization of industrial processes in the heavy industrial sector.
Develop PFDs, P&IDs, material and energy balances, and other process deliverables.
Develop and revise engineering design procedures and technical specifications.
Possess working knowledge of process control systems and process safety design.
Participate in PHAs including HAZOP, LOPA, and SIL assessments and own resulting actions.
