Job summary

VVater in Austin, TX seeks a senior Process Engineer to lead the design of water and wastewater systems, including DPR/IPR projects, using advanced process modeling and equipment sizing. You will deliver PFDs/P&IDs, BOMs, and regulatory submittals while coordinating with clients and onsite teams.

The role requires a PE (Texas preferred), 7+ years in water/wastewater, and hands-on experience with field commissioning. Expect a fast-paced environment with frequent travel.

Qualifications

• PE license required or Texas licensure in progress.
• Experience with Direct/Indirect Potable Reuse in Texas or similar states.
• 7+ years of hands-on water/wastewater process engineering experience across multiple verticals.
• Ability to lead design from PFDs to BOMs and specifications.
• Strong written and verbal communication for proposals and reviews.
• Willingness to travel to commissioning sites as needed.

Responsibilities

• Design complete water and wastewater systems across multiple applications.
• Produce PFDs, P&IDs, mass/energy balances, and hydraulic profiles.
• Size equipment, develop BOMs, and coordinate with procurement.
• Perform process modeling with GPS-X/BioWin/WAVE/IMSDesign/EPANET as needed.
• Support permitting, regulatory submittals, and testing demonstrations.
• Lead technical discussions with engineers, consultants, and end users.
