Job summary

Plug Power is seeking a Senior Process Engineer to join the Electrolyzer engineering team. You will design, integrate and support process equipment, control systems and safeguarding for PEM electrolysis-based hydrogen generation, balancing safety with cost-effective performance.

The role emphasizes process control, safety compliance and clear engineering documentation, with global collaboration and mentorship to peers across Plug Power offices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in relevant Engineering discipline or equivalent.
• 5–10 years of experience in process engineering.
• Specialized in process control or process safety.
• Familiar with CE, IEC, API standards.
• Knowledge of control and safeguarding logic.
• Experience with functional safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Ensures designs comply with process safety codes and standards.
• Develops process design basis, control and safeguarding philosophies.
• Creates PFD, P&ID, C&E diagrams and safeguarding narratives.
• Participates in design and safety reviews (P&ID, 3D model, HAZOP, LOPA).
• Takes ownership of design and department requirements and informs management.
