Job summary

Merck & Co. in the United States is seeking a Senior Process Engineer, Technical Operations for Small Molecule Drug Product (Oral Solid Dose). The role provides technical leadership, ownership of manufacturing processes, and oversight of technology transfer from development to commercial manufacture.

You will lead cross‑functional teams, drive process improvements, ensure cGMP compliance, and partner with QA, Manufacturing, and R&D to deliver robust OSD operations.

Qualifications

• Typically 5+ years in oral solid dose manufacturing, formulation, or process development (PhD may offset).
• Strong experience in OSD manufacturing operations, including roller compaction, tablet compression, and film coating.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for oral solid dose manufacturing processes (blending, granulation, roller compaction, tablet compression, film coating).
• Act as process owner/SME for assigned unit operations and equipment.
• Support Capital Project Team with equipment selection, commissioning, and CQV.
• Lead or coordinate process scale‑up, technology transfer, and validation activities (e.g. PPQ).
• Analyze process and product data to drive data‑driven decisions and improvements.
• Provide advanced troubleshooting for compression, coating, and related issues.
• Lead technology transfers for oral solid dose products into the facility and ensure robust transfer of knowledge.
