Job description

Our San Dimas, California, team is in search of a Senior Process Engineer to support several projects in the area. A projects-focused background with a strong understanding of all stages of design is required.

Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Optimize process designs from conceptual development (pre-FEED and FEED) through detailed design, including equipment startups.
2. Assist business and project teams in developing technical solutions, scope definition, capital estimates, and sales presentations for new and existing plants.
3. Lead the development of process flow diagrams and piping and instrument diagrams.
4. Perform process simulations and develop flow diagrams with heat and material balance tables.
5. Lead the development of piping and instrument diagrams, including process controls design.
6. Prepare equipment process data sheets, perform relief valve system analysis, pressure drop calculations, heat loss calculations, and evaluate/recommend materials of construction.
7. Participate in design reviews and process hazards analysis.
8. Support commissioning, performance testing, and troubleshooting, including some onsite support.
9. Identify opportunities for improving existing processes while meeting client specifications.
10. Update technical skills continuously and research new industry technologies through communication with suppliers, trade publications, and sharing knowledge with peers and supervisors.

Required Qualifications:

1. Degree in Chemical Engineering with process design and/or plant engineering experience.
2. 10+ years of experience in natural gas processing (LNG, re-gas, RNG from digester or landfill).
3. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
4. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks from various sources.
5. Proficiency with process simulation packages such as HYSYS or ASPEN Tech software.
6. Ability to learn and use PC programs effectively.
