Job summary

SHINE Technologies in Wisconsin seeks a senior process engineer for the UNF Recycling product line. This role owns the process systems that turn used nuclear fuel back into energy, integrating new technologies to improve proliferation resistance and maximize recovery.

The Senior Process Engineer–Recycling oversees chemical and mechanical systems for the UNF Recycling Pilot facility, from design through testing, with collaboration with R&D and vendors. Hybrid work arrangement will be considered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.
• 10+ years of engineering experience preferred.
• Ability to oversee multiple projects with changing priorities.
• Experience with radioactive materials is a plus.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Willingness to learn and adopt new technology.
• Experience designing first-of-a-kind systems and taking through fabrication.
• Knowledge of nuclear fuel cycle processes a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own the process design including P&IDs and energy balances.
• Prepare and review design packages and test plans.
• Lead hazard and operability studies (HAZOPs).
• Work with R&D to transfer process tech to design.
• Write equipment specs and coordinate with procurement.
• Perform factory and site acceptance testing.
