Materion Corporation in Massachusetts seeks a mechanical/manufacturing engineer to drive process improvements and optimize safety, quality, and efficiency on the factory floor. You will partner with supervisors and operators to implement improvements and design criteria for capital equipment.

The role involves troubleshooting existing production equipment, designing and commissioning new machinery, and coordinating with multiple engineering teams to resolve complex issues while managing costs

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent.
• 5-10 years of experience in metals manufacturing or related environment.
• Knowledge of process controls (HMI screens, operator interface) to optimize manufacturing equipment efficiencies.
• Lean Manufacturing experience preferred.
• Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, Project, and PowerPoint.
• Familiarity with SolidWorks and AutoCAD.

Responsabilidades

• Team with manufacturing supervisors and operators to address problems and identify opportunities for process improvement.
• Troubleshoot problems with existing production equipment on the factory floor implementing designs.
• Engineer, design, install, and commission new production equipment and train operators.
• Evaluate technical input from direct observations on the factory floor and interfacing with manufacturing personnel and multi-disciplinary engineering groups to solve complex machinery issues.
• Interpret, prioritize, and complete diverse engineering activities to optimize machinery designs considering safety, quality and cost.
• Evaluate and select suppliers for cost-effective sources of materials and subcontracting services; supervise consulting contractors as required.
